We are absolutely delighted to share the incredible success of our 2025 school production of Mamma Mia!. This vibrant and heartwarming musical lit up the stage at the Alexander Theatre, Monash University, with three sold-out performances on 17, 18 and 19 September. It was a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Performed by a talented cast of students from Years 8 to 11 at Sacré Cœur and Years 9 to 11 at Xavier College, Mamma Mia! transported audiences to a sun-soaked Greek island where a story of love, identity and friendship unfolded to the timeless music of ABBA. With dazzling choreography, colourful costumes and powerful vocals, the production was a joyful celebration of youth, creativity and collaboration.
From the opening number to the final encore, our students captivated the audience with their energy, enthusiasm and professionalism. Their dedication to rehearsals, their commitment to their roles and their ability to work together as a team were truly inspiring. The joy they brought to the stage was infectious, with many audience members singing along, clapping to the beat and even dancing in their seats.
We extend our warmest congratulations to every student who contributed to the production, whether on stage, behind the scenes or in a supporting role. Your hard work, creativity and passion made this show a resounding success and a cherished memory for all who attended.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional Production Team, led by the brilliant Kate Dillon, who served as both Artistic Director and Producer. Her vision, leadership and unwavering dedication were instrumental in bringing this production to life. We also thank the many staff members, parents and volunteers who supported the show in countless ways, from set design and costumes to lighting, sound and logistics.
Productions like Mamma Mia! are more than just performances. They are opportunities for students to grow in confidence, build lasting friendships and experience the joy of creative expression. We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved and deeply grateful to our community for supporting them every step of the way.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Mamma Mia! a shining highlight of our school year.
