Year 7

Transition

At the heart of the Year 7 curriculum is transition.

Our Year 7 students are offered a wide range of subjects and experiences which allow them to quickly become part of the Sacré Cœur community. Students in Year 7 study the traditional subjects such as English, Maths, Science, History and Geography as well as French and Japanese language classes. Girls are also exposed to the Creative Arts through the study of Music,Drama and Art itself. All students study Religious Education with a particular focus on the charism of the rscJ order which began our school more than 120 years ago. Information Technology rounds out the Year 7 timetable.

Alongside the classroom curriculum is an outdoor education program which begins at Year 7 and continues through the compulsory years. The outdoor education program enhances classroom learning through the application of skills gained from active learning. The Year 7 staff are experienced in demonstrating how these skills can be applied to two seemingly different experiences, camp and school for the best possible learning to take place

Further learning takes place through our comprehensive pastoral program at Year 7, the "Friends program" which supports the students well being, an essential element for academic success.
