Year 10

It's all about choice!

Year 10 is the year of "choices", following your heart to the program that best fits your talents, interests and goals.

All students study English, Mathematics, Physical Education and Religious Education. Science, which is studied by all girls at Year 10, is divided into the three disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics with students electing to complete the CSIRO "Crest" program or Forensic Science as the fourth unit for the year.

The rest of the choices come from an elective program which includes History, Geography, Digital Photography, French and another twenty six units from across all subject areas. All students are offered the opportunity to accelerate into a VCE subject in Year 10 as part of their elective program. More than one third of the cohort choose to do so.

A carefully planned careers program prepares the girls for VCE subject choices and ultimately tertiary destinations. All Year 10 students are given the opportunity to partake in Careers testing with the emphasis being on every girl making the most of her talents and strengths.  This is further supported by the pastoral program at Year 10 which incorporates outdoor education, study skills, leadership training and responsible digital citizenship.
