Welcome to Sacré Cœur
Welcome to Sacré Cœur - a contemporary school that builds on and values its rich traditions dating back to 1888. Sacré Cœur is inspired by the writings, philosophy and actions of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, Founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart in France in 1800.
Community
At Sacré Cœur our girls share their educational journey from Prep through to Year 12 building relationships across year levels. When students have the skills to thrive in a dynamic learning environment they are more able to contribute to their wider community. We encourage our young women to help shape decision making into the future.
Our students have the best of both worlds. We are a medium sized school with large scale opportunities and a choice of more than 27 VCE studies offered. In such an intimate community our students are known, motivated and connected to the goals of a Sacred Heart Education. At Sacré Cœur each student is able to follow her heart as she is encouraged to develop and extend her gifts and talents.
Celebration of Achievement
Sacré Cœur students achieve outstanding VCE results and have been ranked in the top three performing Catholic girls schools in Victoria in recent years. The most pleasing aspect of this is that Sacré Cœur has a non-selective entry policy and therefore does not screen enrolment for high achievers. Our students develop a love of learning in an environment that encourages curiosity and innovation and fosters the development of their faith.
Connections to the wider world
We see in our girls a commitment to understand and contribute to the issues facing internationally minded citizens. An enrolment at Sacré Cœur provides each student with an introduction to the wider world providing connections to over 150 Sacred Heart Schools. This international network allows our young women to grow in appreciation of cultural awareness, diversity and social justice. Our students belong to a close network with our sister schools in Australia and New Zealand.
