Welcome to Sacré Cœur. This year we proudly celebrate 125 years of Sacred Heart Education at Burke Road. Throughout our rich history, thousands of women have been educated at Sacré Cœur and have gone on to succeed in all aspects of their lives. This has been due to the strength of our community; their sense of belonging to the School and their desire to learn and to be the best they could be.

Sacré Cœur is a school steeped in tradition and connected to 150 sister schools across 40 different countries. This enables our girls and staff to engage in myriad international programs and opportunities. Each of our sister schools shares in and is inspired by the writings, philosophy and actions of St Madeleine Sophie Barat, Founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Whether we are educating girls in Prep or in Year 12 we pride ourselves on three things:
1. The quality of our pastoral care
This enables our girls and young women to develop as individuals, identify their strengths and realise their potential. Much of our focus rests on educating our girls to be confident, courageous, articulate and open to seek out opportunities and meet the challenges of living in their 21st century world.
2. Our dynamic learning community
Our dedicated staff provide each girl with strategies to learn so she achieves to the best of her ability. There is a strong learning culture celebrated at Sacré Cœur and our outstanding VCE results are evidence of our ability to work in partnership with parents to achieve your daughter’s academic goals. In 2012, we were ranked the highest performing Catholic school in Victoria.

3. The importance of raising girls' voices
Girls must believe in raising their voices, ensuring they are both heard and respected. They have much to contribute and we must encourage them to give of their intellect and compassion for a brighter future. Our diverse co-curricular program enables our girls to identify their strengths and develop their skills.
But what do others say about us?
Year 12 student (2012)
“Sacré Cœur has provided me with many opportunities and allowed me to get involved in a lot of co-curricular activities in a supportive and friendly environment. I love the fact the year 12s are encouraged to help one another rather than compete against each other. This reflects the attitude of the school.”
Parent of a Year 12 student (2012)
“I am most impressed with my daughter’s education at Sacré Cœur. Whatever she achieves in life will be a reflection of the education received, values obtained and time spent within the community. We are proud of the young woman she has become. Thank you to the staff for all their efforts.”
If you would like to visit our school and walk through the magnificent buildings and meet the people who will share your daughter’s education please make a time to meet with me. Such a tour will enable you to see and feel the difference a Sacré Cœur education will make for your daughter.
