Sacré Cœur girls love creativity and they particularly relish the creative challenges posed through robotics.
Both our Junior and Senior school students participate every year in the prestigious "RoboCup" robotics competition and are regularly awarded prizes for their inspired genius and problem solving.
Uniquely at Sacré Cœur, every girl in the Senior school will study Robotics in the specific Robotics course conducted in Year 8.
Year 8 students learn what makes a robot tick and explore the joys and pitfalls of designing and building their own robots. They work in pairs to program their robots to draw, dance, and perform Mexican Waves.
While they may not build a robot that can clean their rooms, wash the dishes or do their homework - they leave the course with an understanding and appreciation of the functions and capabilities of robotics and the relative importance of the effects of introducing robotics technology.
