The school's charter is to provide a Religious Education curriculum which is challenging, relevant and Catholic.
The guiding principle underpinning the Sacré Cœur Religious Education curriculum is ‘making the Catholic faith relevant' to the students. The curriculum aims to inform students about the precepts of their faith so that they possess a solid foundational knowledge.
The primary source for what the student needs to know is the mandated by the Melbourne Archdiocesan curriculum framework "Coming to Know, Worship and Love". With this knowledge and the development of associated skills, and the accompanying principles and values, students are then invited to explore and integrate what they have learnt into their lives and their views of the world - making their faith relevant.
